[_sob_reasons_to_sail] => A voyage with Cirdan provides a challenging but adventurous environment, where young people live and work as part of the crew, taking an active part in running the vessel both above and below deck. The benefits gained from the experience can help to build the traits and skills necessary to underpin success in education and employment, including confidence, resilience, motivation, tolerance, and team spirit.
[_sob_sail_training_programme] => Cirdan has a fleet of three very different traditional-type vessels, all operated by fully qualified, DBS-checked crew who are experienced in working with young people. They will welcome you aboard, encourage everyone to work alongside them to operate the vessel, give instruction about sailing, and above all, make sure you go home with memories that last a lifetime. In addition to the sailing, there will be fun and games, beach barbecues, visits ashore to explore, competitions, and the chance to gain RYA accreditation. Cirdan specialises in taking groups of young people aged 12-25 years, who experience some form of disadvantage, and others who need added direction in their lives. A limited number of voyages are available for DofE students undertaking their Gold Residential and other like-minded young people looking for adventure.

In 1983 she was bought by the Cirdan Trust, extensive stored and re-rigged and in 1984 she entered service as Queen Galadriel.
