[_sob_reasons_to_sail] => Pogoria is a Tall Ship for young people and we strongly believe that enabling them to spend some time as crew members on a Tall Ship makes sense. The routes of Pogoria voyages are planned to give an opportunity to see attractive places. When you get on board for the first time, especially if you had no sailing experience before, the imagined picture of life on a Tall Ship will inevitably confront with the reality. Usually, a vast majority of participants are extremely satisfied with the experience they have. Obviously, you will meet your colleagues, boys and girls, most of them in exactly the same situation as you. You will learn how to live in a team which is the crew of a Tall Ship. You will have to learn the purpose of ropes and where they are fixed. It is not as difficult as it seems at first sight. Much of it depends on you. We believe that your cruise will be as successful as all previous, and we wish you fair winds, following seas and unforgettable memories.
[_sob_sail_training_programme] => Check out https://stspogoria.pl/ to discover how life on board is organised and the trainee programme and duties involved. Regardless the daily schedule, the ship’s duties or watches are arranged around the clock. They differ depending on whether the ship is sailing, anchoring or mooring. While sailing – performing duties on the deck (a navigational watch) four hours during the day and four at night. During this watch – steering, setting, lowering or trimming sails, standing on the look-out post, and assisting in the chartroom. While in the port – watching gangways to the vessel. While handling sails it's necessary to climb the mast and yards, it is not compulsory and only volunteers go. Every fourth day – a galley watch, during which time the watch helps the cook to prepare the meals, lay the tables, tidy and wash dishes, tidy up and keep tidy the whole interior of the ship, especially toilets and bathrooms. Moreover, every fourth day your watch will be free of navigational and galley duties from 08:00 to 20:00 (see watch schedule). In such cases, you'll remain at the bosun’s disposal, from 09:00 to 18:30 with a break for dinner, to help him keep the vessel ship-shape.
