At the 0500 UTC/GMT position report, Hansa (Spain) remains in the lead on the water but is now just 14 miles ahead of the second placed vessel on the water which is Dar Mlodziezy (Poland).  Hansa has just 83 miles to go to the finish line and is close to passing the second waypoint. The rest of the fleet are spread out behind them with Dewaruci (Indonesia), Tecla (Netherlands), Maybe (UK) and Alexander von Humboldt (Germany) still to pass waypoint 1.

On corrected time Dar Mlodziezy (Poland) remains in the lead of Class A as well as overall.  Mir (Russia) is now in second place in Class A with Kaliakra (Bulgaria – pictured above) in third. In Class B on corrected time, Bodrum (Turkey) is in the lead with Tecla (Netherlands) in second and Maybe (UK) in third.

In Class C on corrected time, Mythos (Greece) is in the lead with Mati (Croatia) in second. In Class D on corrected time, Hansa is now in the lead with Akela (Russia) in second place and Ideefixe (France) in third.

Across the northern Aegean, winds are between north-west and north-east, decreasing, and by midday today winds are forecast to become very light, particularly for the those in the area of waypoint 1, close to Efstratios Island.
