Biography

Kyrre is a 27-ton and 43 feet long, gaff rigged sailing vessel which was built in 1925 in Risor, Norway. Kyrre started out as a fishing vessel, but after 44 years Kyrre went from fishing vessel to a private yacht. 


Kyrre has been owned by different people through the years, but was bought by the Sea Scout Group Isegran Sea  in the fall of 2017. Since then Kyrre has been used to teach children, teens and young adults to sail a traditional sailing vessel. They have therefore also been given an insight in traditional maritime history and culture.

We have our base in Fredrikstad, Norway and are having weekly meetings where we use our time sailing on Kyrre.
