Temperatures soar for Baltic crew activities

June 5, 2015

Today

(Saturday 6 June) was the day when crews sailing in the Baltic Tall Ships

Regatta 2015 had the opportunity to meet other crews, relax and enjoy fantastic Lithuanian

hospitality and activities.

äó_ sports

With temperatures

soaring to 24 degrees, crews crossed the Curonian Lagoon to the sandy Smiltyne beach on

the Curonian spit to take part in some unusual sports activities.  Pillow fights, running in giant trousers, walking

in triple skis, the ring of fellowship, checkers duel and the more traditional

tug of war were all closely fought battles between the ships crews.

äó_ excursions

Other crews

took part in free excursions to the old town, UNESCO world heritage site,

dolphinarium and to try their hand at amber catching.

äó_ crew parade

Later in the

day they paraded through the streets of Klaipeda, in the traditional

Tall Ships crew parade before gathering at the main stage for a prize giving

ceremony.
